Early Christianity: A Captivating Guide to Early Christian History, Starting with the Ministry of Je
What was the starting point of Christianity? Was it in a little town in Bethlehem, just as the lyrics of our favorite Christmas songs contend? In truth, in the earliest days of Christianity, when Peter and Paul first set out to preach the gospel, the belief systems of early Christians were viewed as merely a new sect of Judaism. The appellation of “Christian” was a term developed by outside antagonists, which the so-called Christians wore with pride. It took time for Christianity to be fully cleaved away from its mother religion of Judaism. A council was held in Jerusalem around 50 CE for the early church leaders to decide what would become the fundamentals of the new faith, such as what old rules and regulations from the Old Testament should remain for new believers. From Christianity’s earliest formation as a separate identity, it began to spread across the known world. The early Christians met in underground churches and, at times, even in graveyards to avoid persecution. Yet, their very secrecy often spurned the wildest of rumors. It got to the point where Communion was even mistaken as an act of cannibalism! This led to the rise of Christian apologists, who were tasked with explaining the most fundamental elements to the lay public. This book explores all of these aspects of early Christianity and more. In this book, you will learn about the following: - The ministry of Jesus - Who first spread the gospel - Early Christian outreach to the Greco-Roman world - Christian Gnosticism, Manicheism, and other Christian sects - The struggle of Christian apologists - The early martyrs of the Christian faith - The impact of the Council of Nicaea - How the church survived the fall of the Roman Empire Click the “add to cart” button to begin learning more about early Christianity!

I Am With You Always: The Nearness of God in Times of Loss
When we are alone, isolated, afraid, and grieving the loss of a loved one, Jesus tells us plainly, “Behold, I am with you always!” It is His presence and constant companionship that brings us comfort, consolation, and hope through all the seasons of our lives. I Am with You Always invites the ordinary Catholic to once again “behold Jesus.” In doing so, we will realize with joy and gratitude the wonderful connection between the ordinary teachings and practices of our Catholic faith and the strength we derive from them to weather the storms of life. The authors gently invite their readers to respond to Christ’s perennial call to “come and see” and to verify for yourself that: - God truly is Love and His mercy endures forever; - Christ draws near in order to remain with us; - we truly encounter Christ in the sacraments and in the liturgy; - we live, even now, in the communion of His saints; - Our Lady of Compassion constantly intercedes for us; and - God hears our prayers and responds to our heartache and pain. This book was written as an act of friendship, as one heart speaking to another about the reality of God’s love for us. It is an act of companionship, a drawing near to a beloved friend in their time of need. It is a gift that reminds a broken heart that there is always hope in Jesus Christ. For He alone is the victory over death that we seek for ourselves and for our loved ones.

L’Amour: L’Accomplissement de la Loi : Love: Fulfillment of the Law(French Edition)

Hope and Holiness: How the Gospel Enables and Empowers Sexual Purity
No amount of rules, software filters, or accountability talks can bring the healing we need. The war against sexual immorality—which begins in our minds and hearts—cannot be won by trying harder to modify our behavior. This will always leave us feeling defeated and discouraged. But we can win victory by knowing our identity in Christ. We gain clarity and power through the Holy Spirit to overcome sexual temptation as we truly grasp the gospel—what God has done for us and in us. And it’s necessary to have the gospel regularly preached to us and to regularly preach the gospel to ourselves in order to experience consistent victory. In Hope and Holiness, author John Fonville shows that the gospel, not practical steps or more self-discipline, is God’s provision for the power to live a life of sexual purity. And it is available to every Christian. With a shepherding heart and theological acumen, Fonville answers essential questions for all who desire to honor God with their minds, hearts, and bodies: Who are we? What is the body? and Who is God? Fonville sets us on a desperately needed joyful path of renewed strength and faith-filled purity.

Everett Scott had always dreamed of having a Christmas tree farm. This didn't happen for a good while and Everett worked around town as a handyman. As soon as he could buy land for the tree farm, Everett started planting very small trees that would one day be in homes everywhere for their Christmas. But it takes a long while for the trees to grow, and a lot of hard work pruning and taking care of each tree every year in order for them to have the perfect shape for a Christmas tree. The Magical Christmas Tree is also about Ellie, a sick little girl that can't wait until Christmas to be well and get her Christmas wish. You will learn all about this when you read the story. The Magical Christmas Tree by Laurence M. Haynes is a sweet and interesting story of Christmas trees. The characters warm our hearts the more we get to know them. Many of us have trees year after year and never think about where they come from and the hard work in growing the trees to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the details involved from buying the land for the tree farm, to the trees being ready to go into homes for Christmas, to all of the hard work Everett and his two sons put into the tree farm. Laurence M. Haynes is also his own illustrator with beautiful pictures throughout this book.

To the discerning few it is evident that Mohammed had a knowledge of that secret doctrine which must needs constitute the core of every great philosophical, religious, or ethical institution. Through one of four possible avenues Mohammed may have contacted the ancient Mystery teachings: (1) through direct contact with the Great School in the invisible world; (2) through the Nestorian Christian monks; (3) through the mysterious holy man who appeared and disappeared at frequent intervals during the period in which the suras of the Koran were revealed; (4) through a decadent school already existing in Arabia, which school in spite of its lapse into idolatry still retained the secrets of the Ancient Wisdom cult. The arcana of Islam may yet be demonstrated to have been directly founded upon the ancient pagan Mysteries performed at the Caaba centuries before the birth of the Prophet; in fact it is generally admitted that many of the ceremonials now embodied in the Islamic Mysteries are survivals of pagan Arabia.

The Tree of the Sephiroth may be considered an invaluable compendium of the secret philosophy which originally was the spirit and soul of Chasidism. The Qabbalah is the priceless heritage of Israel, but each year those who comprehend its true principles become fewer in number. The Jew of today, if he lacks a realization of the profundity of his people's doctrines, is usually permeated with that most dangerous form of ignorance, modernism, and is prone to regard the Qabbalah either as an evil to be shunned like the plague or as a ridiculous superstition which has survived the black magic of the Dark Ages. Yet without the key which the Qabbalah supplies, the spiritual mysteries of both the Old and the New Testament must remain unsolved by Jew and Gentile alike. The Sephirothic Tree consists of ten globes of luminous splendor arranged in three vertical columns and connected by 22 channels or paths. The ten globes are called the Sephiroth and to them are assigned the numbers 1 to 10. The three columns are called Mercy (on the right), Severity (on the left), and, between them, Mildness, as the reconciling power. The columns may also be said to represent Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty, which form the triune support of the universe, for it is written that the foundation of all things is the Three. The 22 channels are the letters of the Hebrew alphabet and to them are assigned the major trumps of the Tarot deck of symbolic cards.

The Tabernacle in the Wilderness
There is no doubt that much of the material recorded in the first five books of the Old Testament is derived from the initiatory rituals of the Egyptian Mysteries. The priests of Isis were deeply versed in occult lore, and the Israelites during their captivity in Egypt learned from them many things concerning the significance of Divinity and the manner of worshiping It. The authorship of the first five books of the Old Testament is generally attributed to Moses, but whether or not he was the actual writer of them is a matter of controversy. There is considerable evidence to substantiate the hypothesis that the Pentateuch was compiled at a much later date, from oral traditions.

Fundamentals of Qabbalistic Cosmogony
The Qabbalists conceive of the Supreme Deity as an Incomprehensible Principle to be discovered only through the process of eliminating, in order, all its cognizable attributes. That which remains--when every knowable thing has been removed--is AIN SOPH, the eternal state of Being. Although indefinable, the Absolute permeates all space. Abstract to the degree of inconceivability, AIN SOPH is the unconditioned state of all things. Substances, essences, and intelligences are manifested out of the inscrutability of AIN SOPH, but the Absolute itself is without substance, essence, or intelligence. AIN SOPH may be likened to a great field of rich earth out of which rises a myriad of plants, each different in color, formation, and fragrance, yet each with its roots in the same dark loam--which, however, is unlike any of the forms nurtured by it. The 'plants' are universes, gods, and man, all nourished by AIN SOPH and all with their source in one definitionless essence; all with their spirits, souls, and bodies fashioned from this essence, and doomed, like the plant, to return to the black ground--AIN SOPH, the only Immortal--whence they came.

Tonight’s subject is “The Supreme Ideal.” But really this is a misnomer, because it would have to be relative to the level on which man is placed. For what is to me today a supreme ideal would not be my ideal tomorrow after I’ve obtained it. But you can, if you have an ideal, you can realize it, and one should have an ideal. Here is a formula by which it can be realized: You sow a thought and you reap an act; you sow an act and you reap a habit; you sow a habit and you reap a character; you sow a character and you reap a destiny. So it all goes back to the thought that you sow. Here, two stories come to mind. I think, in fact I know, you are familiar with both of them. Here is a North American Indian who had an idea, and he sowed it. I’ll show you later how to sow the idea.
