Tonight's that night! At a star-studded ceremony at the Kia Oval, the Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Book Awards, in association with The Sunday Times announced their 2025 winners. This year is the second year of the awards' partnership with headline sponsor, Charles Tyrwhitt.

Commenting on the event, Charles Tyrwhitt’s Chief Marketing Officer, Joe Irons, said:

“We’re proud to be back as sponsors of the 2025 Sports Book Awards. As a menswear brand with deep roots in the world of sport through our partnerships with England Rugby, Fulham FC, the New  York Jets, and most recently, the NY Yankees and The British & Irish Lions – this event is one we’re  especially excited to support.

Sports books have a unique way of capturing the highs and lows that define the games we love – and this year’s line-up is incredibly competitive. We were excited to see which stories won the awards and delighted to celebrate with the writers behind them.”

Fourteen Awards were presented, celebrating a wide array of talent in sports and sports writing in the grand ceremony hosted by well know sports radio and television broadcaster and journalist Mark Pougatch.

Firstly we of course want to give our congratulations to this year's winner of The Vikki Orvice Award for Women’s Sports Writing, in association with LoveReading - Khalida Popal. Named to honour the late trailblazing sports journalist, the Vikki Orvice Award showcases the outstanding contributions made to women's sports writing and celebrates the voices that inspire progress and change. Khalida Popal's inspirational My Beautiful Sisters is a story of survival, sisterhood and resistance in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. My Beautiful Sisters was doubly celebrated, claiming the prestigious Overall Sports Book of the Year.

The category of Autobiography of the Year is voted for each year by the public. This year it was awarded to Sir Chris Hoy with his powerful memoir All That Matters. It was a hotly contested category with Jimmy Anderson and Katerina Johnson-Thompson placing second and third respectively.

This year's Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Book Awards Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Roddy Bloomfield. Working at publisher Hodder & Stoughton, Bloomfield is a much-respected figure in British Sports Publishing renowned for the central role he has played in shaping the way sports stories are told, read and remembered. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Roddy Bloomfield by The Times cricket correspondent Michael Atherton, with a heartfelt tribute from Sir Alex Ferguson.
