Część ukraińskich intelektualistów znalazła się w okopach, gdzie o europejskość swojego kraju walczą w dosłownym znaczeniu słowa. Pozostali wszystkim, którzy chcą słuchać, tłumaczą rzeczy dla Ukraińców oczywiste – że ta wojna nie zaczęła się ani w 2022, ani w 2014. Wśród nich jest Oksana Zabużko, która 23 lutego wpadła z krótką wizytą do Warszawy, i tak w dniu inwazji została „pisarką w podróży”. Od tamtego dnia powtarza: Rosja do takiego stopnia nie może pogodzić się z niepodległością Ukrainy, że chce ni mniej, ni więcej, tylko tego, żeby Ukraina nie istniała. Audiobook „Najdłuższa podróż” nie jest jednak książką czarną. W tym pasjonującym i błyskotliwym eseju Zabużko przypomina, że jedynym źródłem władzy w Ukrainie jest lud, a „Ukraina wybrała być”. Pokazała to w ostatnich latach wielokrotnie. Ta decyzja nie podlega władzy ani Poroszenki, ani Zełenskiego, ani tym bardziej brutalnych rządców Moskowii-Rosji. A jeśli „mała” Ukraina może odmówić gry na zasadach niszczącego planetę surowcowego imperium, to może jest nadzieja na większą, cywilizacyjną zmianę? *** „Najdłuższa podróż” to chyba najtrudniejsza wyprawa Oksany Zabużko. Byłam świadkinią początku tej drogi, gdy wybrałam się 24 lutego na spotkanie autorskie Oksany w Warszawie. Na to pamiętne spotkanie, po którym nie mogła już wrócić do domu, do Kijowa. I nie może do dzisiaj. Dostrzegam w tej niesamowitej książce echo najstarszego sposobu uprawiania opowieści. Takiego, w którym autor nie może odwołać się do źródeł pisanych. Nie dlatego jednak, że nie zostały jeszcze stworzone, ale dlatego, że nie ma do nich dostępu – pozostały daleko, w bombardowanym mieście. I niczego, o czym mówi z pamięci, nie może zweryfikować, ale czuje przemożną potrzebę opowiadania. Zabużko nazywa ten rodzaj pisania „literaturą okopową” – i jest w tym określeniu straszna prawda o czasach, w których powstawał ten wyjątkowy esej. – Olga Tokarczuk
