Im Dezember selben Jahres wurde bekannt, dass er den ORF verlassen wird. Gerald Reischl ist neben seiner journalistischen Tätigkeit auch Autor mehrerer Bücher. Das Hörbuch wird sehr anregend von Peter Matic gelesen, seine angenehme Stimme, die Betonung erzeugen Spannung - etwas, das von einem Fachbuch eigentlich nicht (in erster Linie) erwartet wird.
