Sarah Broadhurst's view...

There is a fashion for detectives to be troubled, damaged souls and our archetype detective here, Jim Monahan, is suffering from the effects of his divorce. He is vulnerable, honest, clever and disobedient, just as he should be. This is a meaty tale of a paedophile ring of long-standing that involves the good and the great, all very sickening with plenty of action involving shootings, suicide, prostitution, kidnapping – the lot. Fairly zipping along, it concerns a former prostitute seeking revenge on those who have abused her.

If you like Ben Cheetham you might also like to read books by Stuart MacBride, Allan Guthrie and Neil White.

Synopsis

Angel of Death A Steel City Thriller by Ben Cheetham

Would you break the law to see justice done? A former prostitute turns to murder in order to take revenge on the men who abused her. Sheffield: a bankrupt businessman has murdered his family. It seems like an open-and-shut case: a desperate man resorting to desperate measures. Middlesbrough: a woman named Angel is heading south. She is a woman alone. A prostitute. Now a murderer. And she has only one thing on her mind: revenge. Two crimes, a hundred miles apart, but a terrible secret connects them. And although the courts may not agree, DI Jim Monahan has all the proof he needs to bring down justice on a group of particularly vicious criminals...
