A Collection of Eastern Stories and Legends: for narration or later reading in schools
In offering this volume to teachers, my chief aim is to provide material for narration which shall deal, not with things temporal but with the “ Eternal Verities.” These, if presented to our boys and girls in dramatic form, at the most impressionable period of their lives, will sink deeply into their minds. When presented in more direct and didactic fashion, the same truths often fail to impress. These stories of the Buddha are not for one age or one country, but for all time and for the world. I have suggested their meaning in the index to enable teachers to -see the contents at a glance. I strongly urge that little or no explanation should be offered to the children themselves. They will be sufficiently interested in the dramatic setting to absorb (unconsciously) the meaning of the story. The book is not intended primarily for children to read but for teachers to use in telling these tales, but' when they have received the dramatic impression through the telling, they will have an added interest in reading the book for themselves. I have purposely avoided using illustrations to these stories. I want the children to make the mental picture suggested to them by the spoken word, and if they read the story afterwards, I do not wish to force them to abandon their own conception and adopt a general one, because this would mean eliminating one of the most potent educational factors in the telling of the story.

Democritus. Bring the Stranger, bring the Stranger. Let us see how he is put together. I smell one goodish ingredient, but the compound is new-fangled, yes {sniffing), and ill mixed. Alcihiades. You can’t possibly scent him at this distance. Not even a dog could. For a Christian he is rather well washed. Democritus. Before you contradict an old man, my fair friend, you should endeavour to understand him. The Stranger might be as clean as a river-god, who cannot live out of running water, and I should not be prevented from discerning the odour of his thoughts. Your barbarians, I know, have no proper regimen. The few bathe too often, out of luxury or fussiness, perhaps in steam or in hot water ; and the many never bathe at all. Thus those who wash among them are quite washed out, and yet the sodden smell of them is perceptible and most unpleasant. But it was not of their soft bodies that I was speaking, but of their rotten minds. Did you never hear that a philosophy can be smelt ?

"Let me thank you Tenille, because you are providing the world with great information that's necessary for evolution, and to me that's a service that is part of this whole evolutionary up-wising" Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D "Wow inspiring Tenille, I loved your warm natured format, thank you for sharing your amazing platform" Dr John Demartini Tenille offers insightful, thoughtful perspectives and suggestion throughout this book about how to use and manage the digital world to advance ourselves and humanity. Read with an open heart and enjoy what she caringly has to say.” Howard Martin, Executive Vice President, HeartMath Inc. Digital Consciousness is a philosophical dialogue into the evolution of consciousness within the digital terrain and the legacy footprint on the human family. Exploring the emotional 'digital' frequency of self is a concept that Tenille Bentley has given a great deal of thought to, and some of the answers to these questions and more may surprise you. While not everyone wants to 'change the world' we do all have the power at our fingertips now to radically affect change for someone, somewhere, some place. Recognising this ability and harnessing how we use the internet is the basis for this book. As we can become consciously aware of this new world, the power of it and the intentions we place in it at the click of a mouse button the effect is far greater than any of us can compute in the architecture of our minds. It's having an awareness beyond the awareness, it's caring enough to treat each post as a piece of the puzzle to the collective consciousness. Ask yourself today, what will this world look like when we reach a united level of Digital Consciousness? You have the potential in creating the world through what you perceive and search for daily. You're either controlling what the Internet gives to you or your being controlled by it.

Karma, a story of Buddhist Ethics
My dear children, do not blame others for your lack of success. Seek the cause of your ills in yourselves. Unless you are blinded by vanity you will discover your fault, and having discovered it you will see the way out of it. The remedy for your ills, too, lies in yourselves. Never let your mental eyes be covered by the dust of selfishness, and remember the words which have proved a talisman in my life: ' Who injureth others, Himself hurteth sore. Who others assisteth, Himself helpeth more. Let th' illusion of self From your mind disappear: And you'll find the way sure; The path will be clear.' If you heed my words and obey these injunctions you will, when you come to die, continue to live in the Good Karma that you have stored up, and your souls will be immortalised according to your deeds.'

Prophetic Integrity: Maintaining Integrity in Today's Prophetic Ministry
Prophetic ministry is one of the most controversial and confusing, yet one of the most crucial ministries in the body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 14:1, the Apostle Paul told the Corinthian Christians to '... eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.' Prophecy is one of the seven primary motivational gifts listed in Romans 12; and one of the five ministry gifts listed in Ephesians 4. Since God began to highlight the prophetic gifts in the 1980s, many methods and models have emerged. Some of those are biblical, others are not. In this book, Eddie and Alice draw from their personal experiences with the prophetic, as well as from what they've encountered in their worldwide ministry. They transparently share their journey, story after story, and pull no punches when it comes to identifying and examining problems that many are bringing into the prophetic arena. • How does God speak today? • How can we discern God's voice from other 'inner voices?' • What are we to do with a prophetic word we've been given? • Are New Testament and Old Testament prophets the same? • What is the proper way to deliver a prophetic word to someone? • Is an unfulfilled prophetic word the sign of a false prophet? • What's to be done with a person who prophesies incorrectly? You will also find inspiring stories of successful prophetic ministry, and guidelines that will help you maintain 'prophetic integrity' in the days ahead. Whether you are a believer who hungers for more, or a pastoral leader who must administrate prophetic ministry, you'll be blessed by these biblically balanced guidelines.

Selected Papers on Anthropology, Travel, and Exploration
Finding from my own personal experience how troublesome it is to hunt through piles of dusty old volumes, I have decided to make a small selection of these papers which I consider are not only rare and v interesting, but which also give an insight into the varied activities and achievements of Burton’s crowded life. Even if local libraries fail to yield an old volume of some magazine long since withdrawn from circulation, one is almost certain of finding it at the British Museum. But then the British Museum is accessible only to a comparative few, and even those few will find that back numbers of journals, etc., are stored away'in a distant building and several days’ notice has to be given before a required volume can be procured. Finally, some of the Burton pamphlets are so rare that the chance of finding them is little less than an impossibility. It will, I think, be realized that such a volume as this will not be superfluous, for, apart from saving people an enormous amount of' trouble, it will give them further insight into the life-work of one of the greatest men of the Victorian era.

Tales From Ariosto: retold for children by a lady
My young readers ought to be told that the poem of the ' Mad Orlando ' is a continuation by Ariosto of a poem by Boiardo, an earlier poet, called ' Orlando in Love.' This helps to account for the abruptness with which the characters appear on the scene, and for the allusions to adventures in which they have taken part in an earlier period of their history. I have been obliged to retain some few of these, which abound in Ariosto — such as the allusions to an earlier visit of Angelica to Europe with her brother Argalia, who was slain by Terrau, and whose helmet was carried off by that knight; to the magic ring stolen from Angelica in Albracca bv Brunello, who also on that occasion committed the thefts mentioned in the story of ' Ruggiero and Bradamante'; and others which refer to a time when Angelica loved Rinaldo and he disliked her, a state of things completely changed before the first story opens. This little explanation may, I hope, make all such allusions tolerably intelligible.

The Inner Government of the World
I want to put before you, if I can in these three lectures, a certain view of the world, and of the way in which that world is guided and directed. As this meeting is a public meeting, there is one statement I think that I ought to make, which it would not be necessary to make, if it were composed of members of the Theosophical Society. It is important to remember that in the Theosophical Society we have no authority on matters of opinion. Every member is free to work out his own theory of life, to choose liis own line of thought, and no one has the smallest right to dictate to any member what he should choose or what he should think. In the Theosophical Society there is only one condition which binds a member, namely, the recognition of Universal Brotherhood. Outside that every member is absolutely free. He may belong to any religion, or he may belong to no religion at all. If he belongs to a religion, he is never asked to leave it, to change it, but only to try to live up to its teachings of spiritual life, recognising the unity of all, to live in harmony with people of his own faith and people of other faiths. When we speak of Theosophy, we may take the word in one of two senses. The first, what it should be to the individual. In that sense there is no difference between Theosophy and the ancient Brahmavidya of India, the Para Vidya, and the Gnosis of the Greek—no difference at all.
