Mums should be celebrated every day of the year in my opinion. Is that because I am a mother? Perhaps. But more likely is that the minute I became a mum, I realised everything and my eyes were opened. My mum rocked and she was my rock. She had been there every step of the way. My biggest champion. My loudest cheerleader. And I hadn't realised, I hadn't appreciated it.

So, give your mum a big hug today and show her how much she's appreciated. And as Mother's Day is coming up, give her an extra squeeze and maybe a gift to show her how much she means to you.

Mother's Day is our annual celebration honouring our matriarchs, the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, and this year in the UK, Mother's Day is on Sunday 15th March.
