From the #1 bestselling author and creator of the hit Netflix series The Stranger comes a riveting new thriller, starring the new hero Windsor Horne Lockwood III - or Win, as he is known to his (few) friends ... Over twenty years ago, heiress Patricia Lockwood was abducted during a robbery of her family's estate, then locked inside an isolated cabin for months. Patricia escaped, but so did her captors, and the items stolen from her family were never recovered. Until now. On New York's Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead not only on Patricia's kidnapping but also on another FBI cold case - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them towards one man. Windsor Horne Lockwood III - or Win as his few friends call him - doesn't know how his suitcase and his family's stolen painting ended up in this dead man's apartment. But he's interested - especially when the FBI tell him that the man who kidnapped his cousin was also behind an act of domestic terrorism, and that he may still be at large. The two cases have baffled the FBI for decades. But Win has three things the FBI does not:: a personal connection to the case, a large fortune, and his own unique brand of justice ...
A classically fabulous action-packed read from a master storyteller. When a teenager goes missing a famous criminal attorney and a former solider and security expert find themselves involved in the hunt to find her. This is a standalone novel (or fingers crossed could even be the start to a new series), though you may note it does contain a character from elsewhere. I adore Harlan Coben’s novels, you can throw yourself in and allow the world he creates to consume you. Here a seemingly simple premise spins into one heck of a mind-twisting knock-out selection of sub plots. The storyline builds, opening up pathways you had no idea were in front of you. There are a range of interesting characters on offer, from the wonderful Hester Crimstein (yes she’s back and I seriously want her in my life) to the straightforward yet enigmatic Wilde. Even with all the characters and multiple threads, I can hand on heart say that I didn’t lose my way, or wonder who was who. I just sat and soaked up the atmosphere and believed in the story. The Boy in the Woods is pure reading entertainment, and I’ve chosen it as one of my Liz Picks of the Month.

Does a Harlan Coben novel really need an introduction… if you’ve not read this wordsmith’s work before then yes, of course it does! I have to say that I am never disappointed, his are thrilling novels that you can completely disappear into as they spear emotions and provoke thoughts. In Run Away a father searches for his daughter, she ran, and he has been searching ever since, when he finds her, he and the rest of his much-loved family find themselves in terrible danger. The first chapter snared my imagination, you know when you fall so deeply into a book that nothing else exists, well that was me. Each character dove into my awareness, so clearly defined, I could hear them and feel for them, even if I feared them. I didn’t want to stop reading and so waved hello to the very early hours (tip: start in good time if you don’t want to pull an all-nighter!). Run Away is a pure, addictive reading feast for the eyes and mind, if you haven’t yet tried A Harlan Coben, now is the perfect time.

An outrageously stunning read, that takes a tight hold from the outset and continues to squeeze until the shockingly intense end. Maya, a former Army Captain, finds herself caught up in a nightmare scenario after her husband is gunned down and events start to spiral out of control. Harlan Coben writes with a masterly hand, descriptions shot straight into my minds eye and the tale continued to twist and writhe with intrigue. Powerful and addictive, clever and memorable, ‘Fool Me Once’ is a brilliantly escapist read, the story whips along, and I just had to read it in one sitting.

The Stranger appears out of nowhere, perhaps in a bar, or a parking lot, or at the grocery store. His identity is unknown. His motives are unclear. His information is undeniable. Then he whispers a few words in your ear and disappears, leaving you picking up the pieces of your shattered world. Adam Price has a lot to lose: a comfortable marriage to a beautiful woman, two wonderful sons, and all the trappings of the American Dream: a big house, a good job, a seemingly perfect life. Then he runs into the Stranger. When he learns a devastating secret about his wife, Corrine, he confronts her, and the mirage of perfection disappears as if it never existed at all. Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corrine's deception, and realizes that if he doesn't make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he's stumbled into will not only ruin lives - it will end them...

It's been eight months since Mickey Bolitar witnessed the tragic death of his father. Eight months of lies, dark secrets and unanswered questions. While he desperately wants answers, Mickey's sophomore year of high school brings on a whole new set of troubles. All the while, Mickey and his friends are pulled deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Abeona Shelter, risking their lives to find the answers - until the shocking climax, where Mickey finally comes face-to-face with the truth about his father.
A great stand alone thriller from Harlan Coben with two plot lines to follow. One is the case that lawyer, Paul Copeland, is prosecuting now and the other the murder investigation he was involved in as a teenager. Thoroughly gripping, you’ll find you are second guessing yourself constantly throughout. Another unputdownable novel from this brilliant crime writer.

Fans of Harlan Coben may feel a slight sense of déjà vu in reading Six Years as this territory has been covered by him before, but it is, nonetheless, a pacy, enjoyable, intriguing mystery that will hook you in and have you racing through. If you’ve not read Coben before then this is a great place to start as it’s a standalone thriller rather than part of a bigger series and a hugely enjoyable way to discover this master thriller writer.
Following the success of his debut PLAY DEAD, another classic Coben is re-released for his huge army of fans. First published about 20 years ago, it doesn't quite have the non-stop suspense that his more recent books have but it is none-the-less pretty damn good.

A Special Edition of Tell No One by Harlan Coben to celebrate Orion's 20th anniversary. January 2011 Guest Editor Lisa Gardner on Harlan Coben... His breakout thriller Tell No One remains one of my favourite novels, and I consider Harlan the master of the so-called “domestic thriller”—books about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Harlan’s characters feel like our best friends and next door neighbours: You recognize them instantly. Then, the unthinkable happens, and now this husband/mother/child, must dig deep to save his family. I find the novels very emotionally satisfying, the perfect way to unwind at the end of a long day. Shortlisted for the Specsavers ITV3 Crime Thriller Bestseller Dagger 2009. The Lovereading view... Don't start this book if you only have half an hour to spare as once you start you will not want to put it down. A chilling mysterious plot and fast paced thriller, this is Harlan Coben at his best.

From the acknowledged crime master Harlan Coben is a thrillingly tense yet emotional tale concerning a missing seventeen year old girl. CAUGHT tells the story of her, the community stunned by her loss, the predator who may have taken her, and the reporter who suddenly realises she can't trust her own instincts about this story - or the motives of the people around her...
June 2010 Book of the Month. This is actually an old novel published years ago that subsequently went out of print. What a treat then for all Harlan Coben fans that Orion have re-published it as it has all the suspense, mystery and intrigue we have come to love from this great mystery writer. A brilliant thriller.
Another great read from the master recently voted favourite crime genre author by viewers for ITV3’s Bestseller Dagger. It is a Myron Bolitar mystery, a character who has definitely improved with age, here off to Paris to unmask a very sinister society called Save the Angels … The concept of this tale is quite frightening and delivered with the expected early hook, great twists and riveting ending. Comparison: Michael Connelly, Jonathan Kellerman, Robert Crais.

Living a lie for 21 years - and now the past has caught up with him... A first-rate thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Caught.
Coben writes stunning, stand-alone, psychological thrillers and a series of novels featuring Myron Bolitar and his violent friend Win. Until now I have found the Bolitar novels inferior to his psychological thrillers. I say … until now for this is a truly gripping page-turner, full of red herrings and violence. The plot is very involved and leads to a totally unexpected shock ending. Drugs, pornography, family involvement, murder and mayhem, it’s a terrific OTT American fast-paced read. First rate. Comparison: Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Jonathan Kellerman.
The note is chilling, but Marc sees only one thing: the chance to save his daughter. And, haunted by deception and deadly secrets - about his wife, about an old love, and about his own past - he vows to bring Tara home ...at any cost.
Winner of the Specsavers ITV3 Crime Thriller Bestseller Dagger 2009. If you are a Coben fan then this stand-alone thriller is just what you’ve been waiting for, it is certainly one of his best. If you are new to this man then get to know him now. He is ace at the hook-you-from-the-start-and-won’t-let-go genre, a man who gives you many a twist right up to the end. You’ve got to read him. Comparison: John Grisham, Lee Child, Michael Connolly.

Coben’s literally unput-downable thrillers really must be tried. He writes these dark, emotional tales alongside a crime series featuring a security agent, Myron Bolitar. They are good but these stand-alone, psychological thrillers are in a different league. Comparison: Dennis Lehane, William Landay, John Rickards.Similar this month: Michael Connelly, John Case.
A Myron Bolitar novel which preceded his psychological thrillers and were published by a different publisher (Hodder) a few years back. This one was 1999 but unless you are an obsessive fan you probably missed it. It is classic Harlan Coben - powerful, moving and ultimately shocking. It tells of what a friend can sacrifice and how hard it is to save those you love - particularly from themselves.... Comparison: Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Lee Child.Similar this month: David Baldacci, Nelson DeMille.
The Final Detail sees the return of the much-loved Myron Bolitar last heard of in ‘One False Move’. It is classic Harlan Coben - powerful, moving and ultimately shocking.
