Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Another great read from the master recently voted favourite crime genre author by viewers for ITV3’s Bestseller Dagger. It is a Myron Bolitar mystery, a character who has definitely improved with age, here off to Paris to unmask a very sinister society called Save the Angels … The concept of this tale is quite frightening and delivered with the expected early hook, great twists and riveting ending.

Comparison: Michael Connelly, Jonathan Kellerman, Robert Crais.

If you like Harlan Coben you might also like to read books by James Patterson, Kathy Reichs and C. J. Box.

Synopsis

Long Lost by Harlan Coben

Myron is summoned to Paris at the behest of an old lover, Terese. She is in unspecified trouble and needs his help. When he gets there, he discovers that her husband has been murdered and she is the main suspect. The interesting thing is that more than one blood-type has been discovered at the scene - and the other blood can only be attributed to his daughter. But she died 10 years before.

As Myron and Terese try to find out exactly what's going on, they uncover more and more questions. Did the daughter really die? Did Terese's husband have a further child with someone else? But when the truth is something no one expected...

Reviews

Coben is still one of America's masters of the hook, the twist and the surprise ending * LITERARY REVIEW * This novel exudes the sort of high-grade glossy competence that characterises a good Agatha Christie story or an episode of THE SOPRANOS. And that's a considerable compliment * SPECTATOR * Harlan Coben is the modern master of the hook-and-twist -- luring you in on the first page, only to shock you on the last * Dan Brown * Cements his reputation as a top-class mystery writer * INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY *
