LoveReading Says
April 2014 Book of the Month.
An American road trip with a difference. Our travelling companions are a surly, wheelchair bound teenager, Trev, with muscular dystrophy and his damaged carer, Ben, a man whose never done care work before. Trev’s well looked after by a very caring mother but he has an estranged father on the other side of America. Ben takes Trev to visit him, so lots of adventures along the way, obviously, but it’s the slow revealing of Ben’s background that really strikes a chord and how both men learn from each other. They pick up a girl and that is charming too. A lovely, special book.

In addition to our Lovereading expert opinion for The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving a small number of Lovereading members were lucky enough to be invited to review this title - 'A fantastic book, it tugs at your heart strings in an unpredictable way. A book that is full of humour and compassion for life...A must read for 2014' Katie Dickinson.
