One of our Books of the Year 2015.

Chosen as a Richard and Judy Book Club selection Autumn 2015.

Twins, the mother Sarah favours one, the father Angus the other. When one dies aged six the devastation in the family is catastrophic. Then Sarah begins to worry whether maybe they buried the wrong twin, especially when the remaining one goes to a new school and starts calling herself by her dead sister’s name. Both parents have different fears for different reasons and you, the reader, are completely involved in their worries. The clever writing keeps you absolutely on the edge of your seat. How this affects everyone and the revelation of what actually happened is terrific stuff. A great read, highly recommended. ~ Sarah Broadhurst

Synopsis

The Ice Twins by S. K. Tremayne

One of Sarah's daughters died. But can she be sure which one? A terrifying psychological thriller perfect for fans of THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN. A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcraft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives. But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity - that she, in fact, is Lydia - their world comes crashing down once again. As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirstie (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, Sarah finds herself tortured by the past - what really happened on that fateful day one of her daughters died?
