An authentically atmospheric and gutsy crime novel where the lurking tension and suspense gangs up to menace and harass your senses. There are definitely not any mundane murders on offer here, instead there is a chilling case that offers Daley a turbulent hunt for the killer. Along side Daley is his loyal sidekick, a close knit gossipy community, a prophesying local and a handful of overstretched investigating officers. Occasionally secondary characters are allowed to voice their thoughts which offers an interesting insight into Daley and may slightly alter the direction your thoughts are taking. The author not only knows his stuff but has the ability to paint a picture of the town and seascape, bringing the surroundings evocatively to life.
