A great insight from the female point of view into the modern family and of the burdens of holding the family together when things go down hill. Happy unit, Mum, Dad, two kids, falls apart when Will (Dad) is made redundant and six months later so too is Charlotte (Mum). The daughter (Rosie 16) is the result of a youthful affair and now her estranged father turns up. Only the lad, 7-year old Ollie, seems reasonably stable. This is well thought out, well presented and a thoroughly good read.

With their stunning 16-year-old daughter Rosie newly signed to a top modelling agency and Will recently out of a job, Charlotte can't help but notice that things are changing in their household. As Will dusts down his old leather trousers and starts partying with their new, fun neighbours, Charlotte begins to wonder what on earth is going on. So when Fraser, Charlotte's ex - and father of Rosie - suddenly arrives back on the scene, Charlotte starts to wonder what might have been...
