"This beautifully entertaining and poignant novel detailing the lows and highs of life for two sisters hits all the right notes."
If you love your novels to feel alive with authenticity, be full of drama, and still come with a massive hug then this is most definitely for you. To aid her recovery Leonie retreats to the Isle of Pitte with plans to return to the bright lights of London as soon as she possibly can but as the comfort of family and home begins to weave its magic, her younger sister Nora finds herself unravelling.
Award-winning author Laura Dockrill writes with the most compassionate yet entertaining pen and my emotions had a full-on work out as I spent time with these two sisters. Leonie thrives on high-energy crowds and is addicted to her job managing a legendary Members Club in London while single mum Nora feels safe in the comfort of home which was their Nana’s and part of their early years.
Not only do you spend time with each of the sisters, you also step into their childhood when they were together with their Nanna Leonora whose story time reveals trust and love in abundance. The surrounding characters are vibrant and I could picture them clearly even if only meeting them for a moment.
I loved the tickles and jabs of humour, they sit in beautiful balance alongside the pain of anxiety and fear of failure. This is a story that reveals itself slowly, yet bustles with energy and so it sits as a Liz Pick of the Month. Two Sisters is a heart-warming, amusing, and hugely satisfying feel-good tale that comes as highly recommended by our LoveReading team.
