A wildly original poetry collection from one of the UK's most exciting young comics. It's full of poems by Key (award-winning) primarily about love, sex, dreams, death and fruit (strawberries, beans etc).
This is a PAPERBACK BOOK. And it is ram-jammed full of poems by KEY. Originally it was conceived and sold as a hardback book. Increasingly KEY has agitated for that brute to be superseded by something more chic; a slimmer, more athletic version that one can slide into a pocket or down a rugby sock. And now here it is.Within its featherweight pages you will find the vast majority of the same poems as you'll find in its unwieldy predecessor. Poems skewering such thorny issues as sex, pancakes, footy and vodka. But, in order to drum up renewed interest, KEY has also added a new poem. And there are also seven new introductions. And KEY has also been allowed to waddle round the text with his Lamy fountain pen, altering and updating. Improving. Making everything just so. For this: THE PAPERBACK.

About Tim Key
Tim Key (34) is ideal. He is a poet who favours dark suits, lager and long hot baths. He works on BBC Four in Charlie Brooker's Newswipe and has travelled to Norway and the Lake District. In 2009 he won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for his poetical recital The Slutcracker and has filmed some of his poeticals in black and white to overwhelming critical clamour.* *NB. I hate writing these. My publisher, a young guy (barely older than myself) asked for something from me and I (contractually) had to oblige but really I found the whole thing pretty abhorrent. If it were down to me, which it isn't (contractually) I would have either had nothing here, or just something simple like a picture of a hen. But that wouldn't cut it with Nick Davies (my young publisher). I can just imagine him using phrases like 'why do you propose we have a hen on the AI' and 'read your contract, you have to deliver copy for the AI, not suggest an illustration'. But on topics such as this I know there's more or less no talking to the guy because he has his 'way of doing things' and because I am under contract (contractually) to do what he says.
