"A beautifully entertaining, funny, and engaging novel about a thoroughly modern family, sisterhood, second chances and forgiveness."
An absolute reading riot, this is punchy, witty, provocative and I loved it. After the years of silence that followed Verity stealing her twin sister Isabel’s husband, the two come together to rescue their missing mother. I adore Kathy Lette’s novels, she is capable of delivering stinging slices of humour alongside thoughtful compassion. I love how easy to read her books are, they suck you in whole allowing you to decompress and have a lot of fun along the way. Feminism and sisterhood often feature, all with a loving hug and occasional elbow in the ribs. The characters feel authentic and as though you already know them. While the relationship between Izzy and Verity sits centre stage in The Sisterhood Rules, there are a whole host of fascinating people to meet, a lot of whom feature in the wider family. We are introduced to three generations, and while much of the humour sits within the scenario of the missing mother, there are also some interesting thoughts to be pondered along the way. Strength, resilience, forgiveness, and empathy can be found in this story, I love how the plot spins you onto a rollercoaster of emotions. The Sisterhood Rules is full of attitude and hugely entertaining yet thoughtful and engaging, and it comes as highly recommended by our LoveReading team.

The Sisterhood Rules: Ah, so many, but the most important three?
1. Share all your secrets - trust is everything
2. Never do the dirty on her - in life, but especially in love
3. Be there for good and bad - nothing, especially a man, is worth losing her over
For twin sisters Isabel and Verity, the sisterhood rules were shattered when Verity had an affair with Isabel's husband.
Unforgivable, right? Devastated by her sister's betrayal, Isabel vowed never to speak to her again and for five years has kept her promise.
But when their mother goes missing, Verity and Isabel are forced to come together again to find her, and when they do they realize their problems are about to get worse.
The only question is - when the person you once loved the most is now your mortal enemy, can you ever find a way back to what you were?
After all, if the sisterhood is to rule, then surely you have to follow all the rules?
Full of laugh-out-loud humour and devastating pathos, Kathy Lette's brilliant new novel takes us on a roller-coaster ride which proves that from pain comes healing, from honesty comes forgiveness, and nothing is more important than your sisters.
