Anna finds herself in the worst possible position when she takes a life in order to save her baby daughter. Events soon spiral out of control as a serial murderer from the past appears to be back in circulation. The clever unnerving prologue made me pause, and I read it again, just to confirm my initial feelings. Tracy Buchanan’s writing ensured I immediately connected with Anna as a shocking incident occurred, then a tight knot of unease grew inside me as events unfolded. An unknown and frankly chilling voice interjects every now and then, sewing discord, creating disquiet and uncertainty. With several blades thrusting for dominance, it’s easy to get lost in the moment before realising with a jolt that a voice from the past is threatening the future. ‘No Turning Back’ throws feelings and thoughts up in the air, before allowing them to settle for the end, and is a thought-provoking read. ~ Liz Robinson
