Her Perfect Escape

LoveReading Says

The many secrets of the rich and powerful lead to murderous mayhem during a weekend celebration on a Greek island.

Natasha—Tash to her friends-- is rich. Very rich. Rich enough to own a villa on a remote Greek island with a marble kitchen, a private beach, a yacht, and staff on call. But, exactly one year before, her sister had disappeared and is now presumed dead. Natasha thinks she’s still alive.

Now Tash, her family, and her friends gather at the luxury villa to celebrate her son’s 21st birthday, and she hopes she can get to the bottom of her disappearance.

This, though, is only the first of many mysteries and secrets that are scattered throughout Her Perfect Escape by Rachel Wolf. This is Wolf’s third novel, following Five Nights (mystery on a cruise ship) and Sun Trap (mystery on a film set).

Wolf, who once worked for a holiday company, excels at describing far-flung locations, like the Greek island and luxurious villa. A side trip to the Acropolis is expertly drawn, as are the university rooms in Boston and the snowy landscape of Washington, D.C.

The chapters are short, but the cast of characters is very long. The constant switching of the point of view, not to mention the jumping between timelines, will force readers to pay attention. That attention to detail will be richly rewarded when all the secrets are revealed in this page-turning thriller.
