"Wildly fresh and different, yet warmly intimate and romantic, this is a relationship story that sets sail on a new course."
Well now, this is different! Adventurous and romantic in the same breath, and oh what a breath… Lexi and Zeke get more than they bargained for when a one night stand turns into a fight for survival as a moored houseboat gets swept out to sea. I have thoroughly enjoyed Beth O’Leary’s novels since reading her debut The Flatshare. She has always taken the genre of romance and relationships and made them feel bang up-to-date and relevant. Here she goes one step further and adds a properly epic adventure into the mix. This isn’t adventure with a little romance, this isn’t romance with a little adventure, the two are beautifully blended into one story, and what a story. The majority of the tale focuses on Lexi and Zeke, each gets their turn in the spotlight, telling their own version of events. It is very cleverly done, they both became equally important to me and I also loved how the age difference is developed. There is almost an element of a locked room mystery, and as they struggled against the elements, I had no idea as to the direction we were heading in. The sense of place is intense, there are two main locations within this adventure and I felt I knew both intimately. There is also humour to be found and a welcome lightness of touch which I loved as it acted as a balance to the darker and more emotional moments. Original, bold, and absolutely gorgeous, Swept Away is a LoveReading Star Book and highly recommended by our team.

Lost at sea . . . with your one-night stand
Lexi is looking for no-strings-attached fun.
Zeke is looking for love.
Neither of them were looking for a one-night stand to become their one and only lifeline.
But when they wake up after an unforgettable night together, the houseboat they stayed on has been swept out to sea. There's no signal, no steering and no sign of rescue.
And as the waves pick up and supplies run low, Zeke and Lexi realise there's much more on the line than their new relationship.
