Just gorgeous, in every single way this book caught my emotions and made them sing. Gemma’s daughter is about to turn 18, she hasn’t seen or heard from her since she gave her up for adoption as a baby. Gemma has lived half a life until now, and waits with bated breath to see whether her daughter will make contact. Award-winning author Debbie Johnson has created a fresh, modern take on the will-they, won’t-they novel, and it really works. The friendship on offer in this novel is heart-warming. The varied age range of the characters feels fully fleshed and ensures a meaningful depth. The plot doesn’t travel obvious lines, it teases and plays yet also explores painful and challenging times. Gemma is a wonderful character, she tells her own story and I found myself encouraging and supporting her, becoming her friend. I adored the ending and it brought a tear to my eye so this novel has been chosen as a Liz Pick of the Month. Forever Yours is a truly lovely and satisfying reading experience I can highly recommend.
