Simply gorgeous! Seriously everyone, this really is THE most lovely book. I don’t know about you, but I adore looking at beautiful houses, and boy is Cath Kidston’s home stunning, it is also deliciously homely too. Yes of course, this is Cath Kidston of the Cath Kidston vintage-inspired homeware and designer brand. She has sent a gorgeous invitation to wander around her home, telling us how they found it, and how each room came into being. Pavilion have created a perfectly sized and visually beautiful book. Stuffed full of vivid, colourful photographs (shout out to Christopher Simon Sykes), I sank into the pages. I love her quirky touches, such as the cracker adorned painting, and the colour, oh my, the colour just pops! Yes I am rather gushing over this book, that’s because it sang to me, and I have fallen in love with it. A Place Called Home would make the perfect gift, but make sure you buy one for yourself too! Chosen as a LoveReading Star Book, just because it is so beautiful.

Cath Kidston MBE allows in for a glimpse of how her creative flair has been used to dress her beautiful home in Gloucestershire.
Through the pages that flow beautifully, you get a feeling of a virtual tour. The images are stunning. Very nicely styled and put together.
This lifestyle meets memoir is divided into four chapters, each of them focusing on the 21 featured spaces in the book. My favourite being the Fish Bathroom and The Living room.
I found this book to be quite inspirational. You don't need an abundance of funds to dress your home. A lot of what can be found in Cath's home are vintage, passed down and charity shop finds.... Read Full Review
A beautiful book which is both inspiring and informative - the story of a delightful house.
This book was a pleasure to read and look through. It told the story of Cath Kidson's delightful house but also gave us an insight into how she creates her designs. I loved the way the house was full of personal details as well as being very stylish - she has created a beautiful family home. The hand-written details throughout the book add to this feeling. A fascinating, better-than glimpse into the beautiful home of the well-known designer, Cath Kidston. I liked it because it was, apart from its grand size and situation, an ordinary lived-in home, with quirky belongings and heirlooms jostling with everyday necessities. The house, tastefully restored but essentially unchanged, offered a far more achievable vision than many of the home magazines peddling uncluttered perfection.

A nostalgic mix of old and new, with lots of shots of easily replicable ideas to style your home with things likely to be to hand (or even at the back of a cupboard!). As a keen gardener, I especially liked the outdoor shots and the use of flowers and plants around the house.
