My advice is to suspend belief if you enter this book, as the premise is likely to throw all sorts of feelings up in the air, and yes this bends the rules of what would happen in real life. Cyra Griffin determines to avenge her younger sister who is murdered, and on securing a tip-off infiltrates a support group for serial killers.
To start with I wasn’t sure whether this was going to be a somewhat tongue-in-cheek take on some of societies most heinous offenders, yet there is more on offer here than first may appear. There is an extremely narrow clifftop edge on which to perch to view the mind of Cyra and visit the other members of the support group, just be careful not to slip.
And talking of edges, it is interesting to see where your mind takes you while paying witness to the dark side of life. Let’s be clear, you won’t locate any likeable characters within the pages, which is something that always piques my interest. The plot twists and turns, allowing thoughts to engage and run ahead, will they trip you up?
With a shocking premise and twisted plot, Serial Killer Support Group is an intriguing and provocative read.
