With a wonderful premise and on point storytelling this is a truly fabulous and thrilling read. The manager of a set of holiday cottages has a hidden camera in the bedroom of a guest. The guest is murdered and the camera destroyed. What next? Hit rewind! I adore Catherine Ryan Howard’s novels, she plays with time and creates plot lines that deceive, outwit and impress. The chilling prologue to Rewind, so matter of fact yet descriptive, really hammers home. It feels like the end, it is the end for someone, yet of course it is just the beginning of the tale. As information is revealed and more characters introduced, even more questions are created. As I travelled backwards and forwards in time, the skill of the writing ensured I stayed fully involved and a part of the storyline. Rewind, so different, clever and powerful, is a sure-fire winner of a read for me, I absolutely loved it!

A brilliant, unsettling, edge-of-the seat page-turner of a book.

I loved this. From the instantly immersive opening scene, right through to the end this was a brilliant, unsettling, edge-of-the seat page-turner of a book.

Rewind contains all the ingredients for a cracking thriller:
lone woman in isolated holiday cottage – tick;
creepy Peeping Tom of a manager – tick;
potential stalker – tick;
relationship problems – tick;
plucky reporter – tick.

I could go on, but you get the picture. I don’t want to write too much for fear of spoilers – which would be a great shame.... Read Full Review

Physiological thriller that's fast paced and moves about between timelines and characters.

I liked the style of this book with the story told as you would have to watch on a camera tape. Beginning with the murder of an Instagram star captured on camera by a creepy holiday cottage manager this book has action from the get go. The story and timelines move forward and backwards so it's one for reading in as few sittings as possible if you're like me and prone to forgetting where you are with moving timelines. Luckily, the story is engaging enough that I didn't want to leave it.

It's twist is good and the style of this psychological thriller is like smaller stories within the whole story. Similar in that regard to her debut novel Distress Signals.... Read Full Review

Another five stars for this utterly engrossing, creepy thriller that literally does tick all the boxes needed for a tension-packed novel. I would highly recommend this book and it’s very talented and imaginative author and I look forward to yet even more by her again in the future.

Having read Catherine Ryan Howard’s previously successful book The Liars Girl and awarding it the full five stars, I was very much looking forward to reading this author’s latest book Rewind. I had exceedingly high hopes for it and I’m pleased to report it didn’t disappoint.
Although the story starts off with a cracking prologue it did take me a while to adjust to who everyone was and their connection to the plot, which is why I’d recommend you read this book in as few a sittings as possible to keep up with the threads. Once this all clicked in place, the story rocketed along and with a nod to Psycho this story was both creepy and menacing and full of tension.... Read Full Review
