LoveReading Says

Elysia and her team of Light Ray missionaries have made sacrifices and undergone a transformation in order to travel in human form to Poseidia, the Capital of Atlantis, to guide civilisations in “wise ways of abundance”. But upon landing they realise things aren’t what they seem, an obsessive new monarch has enough power to destroy the world and beyond and the key to the team’s success to overpowering the forces of Lesser Light could be with the hypnotic Alaric, who makes Elysia question everything she knows as a missionary to be true.

This is an interesting storyline that centres around Elysia’s work and the secret past she uncovers. The Metaphysical aspect of the plotline gives the storyline a spiritual feel, focusing on the missionaries spreading a positive message by emanating love and hope throughout the book. Elysia is an interesting main character, seemingly different from her other missionaries and struggling from the outset with dealing with desires she thinks stem from Lesser Light manipulation. I enjoyed seeing throughout the book as she overcame her insecurities and started to fulfil her potential. There’s still plenty of this story to tell, Atlantis Writhing being the first book in a series and fans of more spiritual / metaphysical fiction will enjoy this positivity-filled storyline.
