This is an interesting series of which there are 20 so far so lots to get hooked into. They are police procedural stuff with a difference for they are set in 2058. I think they are great. Easy escapist fun with a sassy female detective, Eve Dallas, lots of blood and emotions, they carry you through tight plots at a swift pace.
Comparison: Sue Grafton, Sara Paretsky.
Similar this month: None but try Ian Rankin for crime and Michael Cordy for futuristic stuff.
'Murder was always an insult, and had been since the first human hand had smashed a stone into the first human skull. But the murder, bloody and brutal, of an entire family in their own home, in there own beds, was a different form of evil.’

'Murder was always an insult, and had been since the first human hand had smashed a stone into the first human skull. But the murder, bloody and brutal, of an entire family in their own home, in there own beds, was a different form of evil.’ On the surface Keelie and Grant Swisher seem unlikely targets for an assassin; an average couple living in a nice neighbourhood and working hard to raise their two kids.
