Cats, cava and café culture come together on the stunning Mediterranean island of Mallorca to make this a gloriously rich, warm and satisfying read! Set on the beautiful island of Mallorca, this is a really heart warming story of a couple becoming engaged, and planning their future which involves restoring a disused restaurant into Mallorca’s first cat café. Profit raised from the cat café will then be directly channelled into an established rescue home for stray cats and kittens which is desperately in need of additional funding. Life appears to be perfect for the betrothed couple until one day Laura is unable to speak to Carlos. Laura arrives in Mallorca from the UK to take up a job of a presenter on a local radio station. She meets Carlos, an accomplished photographer, who proposes to her on a yacht while watching the sunset. Together they plan to restore and live in a country cottage which Laura has inherited from a relative. They also plan to set up Mallorca’s first cat café and use all profit to support a rescue cat centre run by Mary-Lou, Laura’s friend from the US. But suddenly Carlos is no longer in touch with Laura and their life together fragments which Laura finds unbearable. However, she is still committed to supporting the cat café project and members of the local community offer their support to help her continue the preparations for its opening. This is a well written book with loads of feel-good moments, and beautiful descriptions of the island scenery which should be savoured and enjoyed!

Life seems idyllic for Laura Lundon. The presenter of a successful morning show on an English radio station shares an apartment in Mallorca’s capital, Palma, with her photographer boyfriend Carlos McCloud, and their rescue cat, Harry. Laura is also the new owner of a tiny but significant cottage the couple intends to renovate in the mountain village of Deià. One day it’ll be a cosy weekend bolt-hole … after their other dream project has come to fruition. They’ve also made plans to turn an abandoned former restaurant into Mallorca’s first cat café, to raise much-needed funds for the adjacent Refugio Marylou – their American friend’s sanctuary for homeless cats and kittens. But when a bombshell from Carlos’s past takes him away from home and threatens their future together, Laura must put aside her heartbreak to make this passion project happen. Can she overcome the emotional and practical difficulties involved? And will her heart ever mend?
