"A retired spy reenters a covert world after saving a baby in this hugely entertaining story of skullduggery and espionage. "
Action packed, witty and sharp, this novel also successfully includes moments of real darkness to ensure a thought-provoking balance. Former spy Felicity Jardine is over 70 years old and tiring of life, yet her skills come in handy when she prevents a murder and determines to solve a mystery. Author Mark Ezra carries humour into a treacherous territory, encouraging this highly entertaining story to run wild in two time frames.
The two strands initially feel very different, with 2019 declaring itself as smirky and provocative while 1970’s Germany enters with an undercurrent of menace. Felicity makes for a wonderful main character, and she surprised me on a number of occasions. She is determined and independent, so underestimate her at your peril.
The baddies are defiantly bad and I thoroughly enjoyed disliking them. I loved how the plot is more than capable of throwing a spanner or two into the works, and just as I was settling in and getting comfortable I would find thoughts and feelings shifting again. Bold and stimulating, A Sting in Her Tale is also an absorbing, provocative, and humorous read that we can highly recommend.

When retired former spy Felicity Jardine's mission to drown herself is interrupted by a baby drifting down river, her training kicks in at once. She manages to save the baby, and conceals them both from the shady-looking man who is searching for it.
