One of those books that picks you up by the scruff of your neck and doesn’t put you down until you’ve reached the glorious end. Three groups battle for survival in a coach crash, a cable car breakdown, and power outage at a remote chalet. While the plot is viciously stunning, the characters are beautifully rounded and authentic and the premise is so very clever, my mind almost spun itself inside out as I read. C. J. Tudor has created an intensely atmospheric setting that plays as much a part as the characters themselves. The weather conditions chill as convincingly as the plot creates havoc in your thoughts. As each jagged slice of the jigsaw began to bind together, a startling vivid image was created, and left me feeling blindsided within The Drift.
