An engaging romance where secrets held and truths untold dominate lives. Eight years ago, Alex Foster ran away from her family and the man in her life, now an unexpected call necessitates a return to the home she has avoided. Although the main character is Alex, there are actually three interwoven stories to be discovered. Anouska Knight with a lovely light witty touch tells a wonderfully romantic story, yet her characters feel grounded in reality and she doesn't shy away from the heartfelt sorrow and pain of illness and loss. Secrets are twisted into the everyday normality of this family, guilt and sorrow are constant companions. It’s easy to encourage, to wish the Foster’s happiness as they unravel the hidden and start to discover neglected feelings, with some surprises along the way, Letting You Go is an enticing and enjoyable read. ~ Liz Robinson

Synopsis

Letting You Go by Anouska Knight

What if a tragedy occurred and you only had yourself to blame? How do you move on from the past? Alex Foster lives a quiet life, avoiding the home she hasn't visited in eight years. Then her sister Jaime calls. Their mother is sick, and Alex must return. Suddenly she's plunged back into the past she's been trying to escape. Returning to her hometown, memories of the tragic accident that has haunted her and her family are impossible to ignore. Alex still blames herself for what happened to her brother and it's soon clear that her father holds her responsible too. As Alex struggles to cope, can she ever escape the ghosts of the past?

About the Author

Anouska Knight won ITV Lorraine’s Racy Reads competition in February 2013 with her debut novel, Since You’ve Been Gone. With the setting inspired by Anouska’s former special-occasion cake business, Since You’ve Been Gone has been praised for its fresh style, warm humour and touching, thought-provoking plot. Now a full-time writer, Anouska lives in Staffordshire with husband Jim, her childhood sweetheart, and their two young boys. When she’s not writing, she’s still often found baking and will whip up a cake at the drop of a hat if asked nicely. Letting You Go is Anouska’s third novel.
