Sarah Broadhurst's view...

A second novel from an author whom I believe is a star of the future. She is very astute and has her finger firmly on the modern marriage/relationship button. The book revolves around the lives of Ella who is married with two small children, and Phoebe and her father. She is a very overweight teenager with plenty of angst. How these three interlink and lace their lives around each other is cleverly done in a most satisfying read.

If you like Helen Chandler you might also like to read books by Lucy Diamond, Jane Costello and Chris Manby.

Synopsis

To Have and to Hold by Helen Chandler

...Imogen's relationship with Pete was once fun and carefree but since they've become parents, everything is different. Then an accident provides the catalyst for a life-changing decision. Fifteen-year-old Phoebe is miserable at home and at school. And now her dad, who was always her ally, seems completely distracted by something - or someone. Maybe it's time Phoebe took a stand, and took control of her own life. As Ella, Imogen and Phoebe contemplate taking the biggest risk of their lives, marriages, families and friendships hang in the balance. Should they take the leap, or will they risk losing everything?
