The Country Escape by Fiona Walker

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

This reads like a Jilly Cooper only instead of show jumper Rupert we have a film star Ronnie, but there are still plenty of animals about. Our protagonist, Kat, has been left a farm and instructions to care for the old animals on the estate. The farm is hers as long as she doesn’t marry. So a plot is hatched to marry her off so the estate can be sold as a whole. An IT multi-millionaire from Bradford, Seth Singh, buys it even with Kat sitting in the middle for he wants to do some dubious deal with a Russian oligarch. All good fun. With lots of storylines and sub-plots, this is a long summer read, full of humour, great fun.

If you like Fiona Walker you might also like to read books by Carole Matthews, Catherine Alliott and Louise Bagshawe.
