"With lots of twists and turns before its satisfying conclusion, this is an entertaining and well-written mystery that fans of detective / investigator series will enjoy."
The search for a missing graduate has P.I. Flynn scouring the length of the UK in an entertaining investigative mystery. P.I. Eddie Flynn is hired to look for a young man who hasn’t been seen by his family in two years. But the hunt for Chas Abbott gets complicated as the trail runs cold. Part of Michael Donovan’s P.I.
Eddie Flynn series of mysteries, ‘Shadow Road’ takes us on a winding journey across the UK in the search of a missing graduate, but more questions arise as groups with unknown motives also start to show an interest in the search. This is an interesting narrative. Although I haven’t read the previous books in the P.I.
Eddie Flynn series, I was still able to immerse myself in the story quickly and so I would assume that the books can be approached in any order, although readers who like to start at the very beginning are advised to pick up ‘Behind Closed Doors’, the inaugural winner of the Northern Crime competition.
I would say that Eddie Flyyn is personality-wise on the brighter side of the P.I. I’ve read about. He has the typical dogged determination to close his case but seems to be without the level of brooding I’ve read in P.I.s before, which was quite refreshing. With lots of twists and turns before its satisfying conclusion, this is an entertaining and well-written mystery that fans of detective / investigator series will enjoy.
