The blurb for this book really appealed to me and I was intrigued to see what happened to these characters. Bill and Amanda live in a semi-detached house in London in their sparsely decorated and basic house leading fairly normal lives. One day new neighbours, Fiona and Terry move in next door and the two couples couldn’t be more different. They are glamorous, loud and also very determined to make friends with their new neighbours.
I really enjoyed this book for the first half, the characters were brilliant and it was written in such a way that you just had to keep reading to find out what happened next. Then it got a bit far-fetched and my interest began to wane as the story unfolded. I finished it to the end, but feel that it would have been a five star read for me if it had carried on how it started.
This book was the first one I’d read by this author, but I’ll definitely be looking out what else she has written.
