A gobsmacking, heartbreaking, punch of a read. You may well have heard of Chris McCandless, he abandoned his life to live in the wilds of Alaska. There is no happy ending to be found here, and the story of his last few months left me reeling. I have been to Alaska, and spent time in Healy, which is the last small town McCandless walked through before stepping into the wilderness of Denali.
