A slicing, piercing, irreverently funny story of revenge, join four women as they attempt to turn the tables on the men who destroyed their lives. Not just for women approaching or in menopause, this book will reach out to those who have been overlooked, scorned, or replaced. Author Kathy Lette doesn’t hold back on her trademark pointed humour or commentary on society issues. Sexism is scrawled across the pages, and the humour often highlights the absurdity as well as the derogatory humiliation that victims suffer. While this really does skewer a certain type of man, this certainly isn’t a man-hating book. The concept of revenge is dealt with in a sassy yet smart and balanced way. Narrated by one of the women who is a best-selling author, the comment within on Kathy Lette herself made me smirk in appreciation. The Revenge Club isn’t just a one-way street, warmth, compassion, support, and a few surprises can be found along the way ensuring a ferociously funny and pointed story of sexism and revenge.
WHEN THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU, IT'S TIME TO GET EVEN.
Matilda, Jo, Penny and Cressy are all women at the top of their game; so imagine their surprise when they start to be personally overlooked and professionally pushed aside by less-qualified men.
Only they're not going down without a fight.
Society might think the women have passed their amuse-by dates but the Revenge Club have other plans.
After all, why go to bed angry when you could stay up and plot diabolical retribution? Let the games begin...
