The sort of book that is not truly compulsive but every time you put it down you are drawn back, wanting to know what happens next. It involves damaged people healing after their World War II experiences; a murder and the personal stresses within a relationship attempting to hide a dreadful secret. Guilt, revenge, love and morality are all intriguingly explored in a satisfying read.
