A shamelessly funny and brilliantly insightful tale. I absolutely loved the character of Eva, she has all the thoughts and insecurities that most of us do, she has to confront the temptations and secrets that the past has brought up and she is just so incredibly likeable you are completely swept up in all her moral dilemmas. A really good read, can’t wait to see what follows this great debut novel.
Like many women her age, Eva Cassady has tried - and failed - every diet under the sun - but nothing has concentrated her efforts more than the possibility of an affair with an old flame.
The weight begins to fall off, and Eva realises that her email flirtation with Michael has given her a new sense of herself. She resolves to make the most of her sudden burst of motivation and reclaim the body - and hope - she'd believed were gone forever. Meanwhile, she's finding excuses to avoid any meeting with Michael, refusing to allow him to see her - or to surrender this fantasy to the reality of an affair - until she has lost enough weight to recover the body she'd been so proud of in her early twenties.
Can a woman ever be thin enough for adultery? And no matter how hard she diets will Eva's conscience still weigh her down...?
