Edenborn

Edenborn Synopsis

Munich, Germany AD 2098. Twenty years after Idlewild, the gengineered children are now adults. Isaac, Vashti, Pandora and Champagne are united in purpose: to resurrect the human race and rebuild civilization. Together they comprise humanity’s last, best and perhaps only hope. Absent is Halloween, a bitter, disillusioned and brooding presence living in self-imposed isolation somewhere in North America, oblivious to the others’ efforts.

But ideological splits are already beginning to appear among the survivors. The Caretakers, Isaac and Pandora, want to return things to the way they were before the plague known as Black Ep wiped mankind off the face of the planet. Vashti and Champagne are the Renovators. They’re convinced the only way is by improving society via eugenics – genetic manipulation.

And so a new generation of children is born, but as they mature it appears something has gone terribly wrong: Black Ep returns and begins to collect new victims. The clock is ticking. The others need Halloween now more than ever, but in order to help save the future, Halloween has to rediscover hope...

Thrilling, post-apocalyptic yet written with an arcing sense of wonder, Edenborn is the next visionary chapter in the Idlewild story by one of speculative fiction’s most exciting new voices.
