July 2013 Guest Editor Cath Staincliffe on Beloved...
Probably the most powerful book I’ve ever read. Morrison gives us a searing indictment of slavery and racism in a beautifully written and harrowing story about a woman and her children haunted by a child ghost in the aftermath of the American civil war. This was one of those novels that made me desperate to try to write myself.
