July 2010 Debut of the Month.
Extremely well written debut of murder, suicide, blackmail and red-herrings. It’s all set round the publication of a small mystery magazine with a dry sense of humour about authors, writing, ghost writers and reputations that must be protected adding a sophistication to a tight mystery. With a complex tale and lots of twists, it’s a lovely, gripping read.
Comparison: Harlan Coben (The Woods), Tana French, Patrick Quinlan.
David Loogan is leading a new and quietly anonymous life in a new town. But his solitude is broken when he finds himself drawn into a friendship with Tom Kristoll, the melancholy publisher of the crime magazine Gray Streets - and into an affair with Laura, Tom's sleek blond wife.
