The Night Watch is a gritty police procedural thriller with a strong cast of characters. It's engaging and authentic – from the indepth police investigation to the detailed forensic elements. The intense and serious nature of the crimes is offset by lighter moments, thanks to witty Scottish banter between police colleagues. Each one of them is potentially a suspect in this twisty whodunnit as the cold-blooded killer seems to be part of the investigative team. This is the third book in the DS Max Craigie series.
It's a gripping and entertaining read filled with action and culminating in a nail-biting ending.
