October 2009 Book of the Month.

There can be few braver people than the author of this book, who decided one day to quit her job, sell her house and then fly alone to the other side of the world, to Australia with a rucksack as a companion. What the author discovered was a new person, someone who loved the adventure, the meeting of new people and the unexpected that went with being a free spirit and with no responsibilities except to herself. She jumped off waterfalls, swam in crystal clear lagoons, ran along deserted beaches and slept beneath the stars, befriended spiders, fed dolphins and got up close and personal with pythons. This personal journey changed Georgina’s life for ever and it just might change yours for the better as well once you’ve read it.

This book is published by Vanguard Press, a subsidiary of Pegasus Publishing. If we are ever out of stock here at Lovereading then click on our Compare Book Price link and you should find another online store has it in stock.

Georgina Carr’s next book will be released later this year and is called Inside Out... Always expect the unexpected. The sparkling lights of Barcelona beckoned, and in the hot humid air our excitement was at fever pitch as me and the girls tumbled out of the back street hotel in a cloud of glitter, sparkle and laughter. Away for a weekend of dancing, we approached the Latin club doorway where the intoxicating salsa beats streamed out, inviting us into a night full of possibilities.

What I didn’t know was that behind those doors lay the biggest adventure of a lifetime.

Falling totally and utterly for a man who lived in this city of passions, I packed up my entire life in England in a crazy pursuit of love, and followed the very heart of my being to Spain where the man of my dreams awaited. The adventure intensified as I did not leave England alone. Not only was I carrying my dreams, hopes and fears along with my worldly possessions, but now something much more precious…another human being.

As the gentle yet forceful hand of love guided my destiny through unforeseen circumstances, unanticipated events, and realms beyond my furthest imagination, I realised that with love, anything and everything is possible.

And that’s not the end of it either. Her third book, Back to front will continue her epic and crazy travel adventures and will be published in 2010.

Others who have enjoyed Upside Down:

‘There are so many things I now want to do that I never knew existed before reading this book. I would recommend this book to everyone, just be ready to pack your bags as soon as you turn the last page’ L Taylor

‘Upside Down guides the reader through a rainbow of emotions which will wake the sleeping explorer in each of us’ F Bailey

Upside Down by Georgina Carr

Was this it?

As the rain poured down outside, I looked around my office at ten to five – blank faces glued to their computer screens. Surely there had to be more to life?

On that cold, grey and damp Monday afternoon, something suddenly clicked inside – there WAS more to life and I needed to venture into the unknown to find out what…

Taking my courage in both hands I sold my house, quit my job and flew alone to the other side of the world, with just a rucksack as a companion.

What I didn’t realise was that as I walked, sun kissed and smiling beneath the glorious blue skies of Australia, adventure not only awaited me but also the discovery of unbounded beauty, exquisite freedom and untold choices I had never imagined possible…
