Great escapism mixing crime with a futuristic world. There are 26 (!) in the series, not all available over here yet but if you get hooked (which you should) then you have lots to keep you satisfied. The central duo are strong characters but it’s the advanced technology that makes these such fun. Here Eve has a new car which can move like a rocket and achieve a 15 ft vertical lift. Her colourful clothes and hairstyle are well thought out and the plot is non-stop excitement. With off planet venues from prisons to paradise, it’s “sheer entertainment” (Guardian).
Comparison: Unique but try her alter ego Nora Roberts or Christine Feehan and Tana French (The Likeness)
Every cop gets angry when a police officer is killed. And Lieutenant Eve Dallas is no exception. But Amarylis Coltraine was also in a relationship with one of Eve's colleagues, so after Eve has delivered the terrible news to him, she throws every resource she has into finding the killer.
