LoveReading Says

LoveReading Says

It’s difficult to describe just how beautiful and emotional yet raw and provocative this is, it quite simply took my breath away. The reality of domestic abuse hits hard in the most gentle and fragile of ways. A young boy escapes into his mind to avoid the daily threat within his home. The pages turn as if by magic, from the vulnerable strength of a mind able to create a vivid dream in which to hide.

Author and poet Wayne Holloway-Smith has the most exquisite way with words, they bend and flow, cutting into thoughts, slicing through feelings. I was encouraged to read out loud, to taste the sentences as well allow them access into my innermost being. I can still feel the goosebumps shivering down my arms and the tears gathering as I came to the end, and so it has to join our LoveReading Star Books as well as sit as a Liz Pick of the Month.

Highly recommended, Rabbitbox is an immensely powerful, haunting, and truly beautiful read.
