Author Van Jensen has created the most fascinating world, it all feels so incredibly real, I didn’t question the premise, I just believed. The focus is very much earth based, with authentic and vibrant characters leading the way.
The fallen alien remains at a distance, it retains an awe-inspiring sense of immense power, affecting the everyday life of the towns people. The strangeness of the murders creates an all-invasive atmosphere, I felt on high alert throughout. This novel is full of smart suspenseful writing with a beautifully maintained balance between the known and unknown, which is why as well as a Liz Pick of the Month, it has also been chosen as a LoveReading Star Book.
