Turn Around

LoveReading Says

Heather Ramsey is excited for the paycheck boost the new principal job will bring, but when she goes in to sign the papers and realises she’s been passed over her life begins to unravel. Struggling to pay the bills, meet the demand of the new leadership and her marriage on the rocks, Heather leans on her friends who are a constant source of support.

Turn Around is an easy to read story about friendship, solidarity and resilience. Regardless of the troubles Heather is facing, her friends are always there for her, offering encouragement and support as her life takes an uncertain turn and through the ups and downs of the new school year. This is a comforting story about the reassurance of strong friendships with a wise encouraging message about following your own path and pursuing what makes you happy.

The narrative offers conflicts on multiple fronts; the financial issues causing a rift between Heather and her husband, a strained relationship with her mother and her people-pleasing and difficult transition to a new way of working at the school. All these offer opportunities to form a connection with Heather, and as I was reading I was hoping for a resolution to her problems.

This is Book One in the Running With Friends series and readers who enjoyed this will be keen to find out more about the group of friends.
