The Christmas Holiday

LoveReading Says

It’s that time of the year when a festive slice of gorgeous romance is most welcome, and The Christmas Holiday offers a cosy loving hug. 24 years after finding the perfect Christmas card house as a child, seasonal buyer Krystle returns to the Lake District to spend time in the holiday home of her dreams.

Rescued from a flooded river by Max who lives in seclusion, a fragile friendship begins to form. I love Phillipa Ashley’s writing, she delivers a special welcoming warmth that allows you to drift off into the magic of the story. This time the location includes an outdoor centre and mountain rescue team, and the Lake District and its occupants came to life around me.

I felt as though I was reading about friends, they were so accessible and relatable. Alongside Krys, Max and the villagers, are the dogs, and Jake in particular is adorable. Friendship is a major theme, as is trust, and believing in yourself and others. I’ve chosen The Christmas Holiday as a Liz Pick of the Month, it is a perfect Christmas treat for anyone wanting to experience some sparkle and joy.
