Poor Rose has lost her beloved teaching job and isn’t fully on board with fiancé Ollie’s plans for their future together in London. So when she hears that her elderly Aunt Jean has had a bad fall in the village she spent happy summers growing up in, Rose can’t catch the train to Blossom Heath quick enough.

Being back in rural Sussex opens up unexpected offers of work and friendship - add to the mix strapping farmer, Jake, and a rescue dog in need of a home, and Rose feels the draw of her old life slowly slipping away. Oh, to live in Blossom Heath! This postcard-perfect country village is just one of many reasons to fall in love with Julie Haworth’s romantic novel.

Long walks in the countryside, cosy evenings in the village pub and a heart-warming sense of community - Haworth captures the beauty and comfort of rural living with ease. Each adorable character welcomes Rose back into their lives with kindness…handsome Jake being especially attentive to her needs!

Alongside the will-they-won’t-they romantic thread, there’s plenty of side drama to keep the pages turning: missing dogs and trips to the hospital add a splash of spice when it’s needed. Always By Your Side is a joyful, life-affirming story that whisks you away to a gentle corner of England and reminds you to listen to your heart, even when faced with the hardest decisions life can throw at you. What a gorgeous, read-in-one-sitting debut.
