And when I mean fall, I mean you can't help but smile at his grumpy, maverick ways and blatant disrespect for authority. Someone is writing to convicted rapists in prison, befriending them and then brutally killing them when they are released.
Can Thorne catch the killer, when he doesn't really care about the victims? A gripping story that I powered through and well and truly cemented Billingham as one of my fave crime writers, and Thorne as a great hero.
