Since Ludlum’s death his books have been based on outlines of novels he left unfinished and acknowledged as co-written by various people his estate has commissioned to bash them into shape. Interestingly this one has no co-author. The publishers tell me it was left in sufficient a state to just need a bit of editing so, in effect, this is an original Ludlum!

One of these employees, former agent Hal Ambler, is kept heavily medicated and closely watched. But there's one difference between Hal and the other patients - Hal isn't crazy. Hal pulls off a daring escape and now he's out to discover who stashed him here and why. But the world he returns to has changed. No one remembers him, there are no official records of Hal Ambler, and, when he first looks in the mirror, the face he sees is not his own . . .
"The excitement and body count is high." - IRISH INDEPENDENT
"The characters in Robert Ludlum's new novel are so hardboiled they crack rocks just by staring at them. An entertaining action thriller. A big book that crosses continents in a single chapter. It has a huge array of characters, is fast paced, has a good eye for detail and comes to a clever resolution. [A] clever plot." - DAILY EXPRESS
"A satisfying amount of action involved, with hair-raising escapes on almost every page, dramatic scraps and puzzle-solving, and about as much wet work as a thriller writer can squeeze in... Ludlum fans will love it." THE GUARDIAN
